After having tried the available Scilab modules, and not being totally happy with their results, I set about writing my own designer - Scilab GUI Designer. I also installed the GUI Builder by TAN Chin Luh. Once the complexity of a GUI program goes beyond generating two or more user-interfaces, it becomes very inconvenient to keep track of all the uicontrols, their event programming and their inter-communication. The SCILAB graphical user interface development environment provides a set of tools for creating graphical user interfaces (GUIs). I compiled this presentation while familiarizing myself with Scilab for basic engineering applications.

These modules are mostly written in Scilab and can be directly integrated into the software via ATOMS (AuTomatic mOdules Management for Scilab) repository. This is part 4 of GUI Builder for Scilab, to show how to load and show image on the GUI, perform simple processing and show the image again on the same axes.

Version 4.0 () Update : To work with Scilab 6.0 Change : Change the way creating figure to make have better visual appearace when the GUI launched Change.

The program allows you to build your GUI quickly, and the code for the gui would be generated automatically.

There are a few external GUI builder modules, developed by third-party contributors, which provide basic features to help design simple GUIs. GUI Builder is a Graphic User Interface Builder under Scilab. Despite its versatility and ease of programming, the biggest limitation, in my opinion, of this software is the lack of a proper real-time graphical-user-interface (GUI) design tool. The main contribution of this paper is to develop an integrated system using sound card as data acquisition hardware, Scilab as the GUI builder and a signal. What I like about programming in Scilab is the speed with which one can develop a mathematically-intensive simulation and display/save the results.
